No requirement to use scheme specific software, I'm guessing they would prefer it but you can use what you want.
I'm with Niceic but swear by easycert and use that.

Software that acts with a database so it auto fills address, circuit info etc and very importantly quotes the regs numbers for issues when doing EICR's

And no I don't use my CPS's software - so when I change CPS, then I can still access my certificates
Never considered that murdoch good call!

Predictive text helps with the details and since when do you need to quote the Regs to justify your findings?

You don't but so many EICR's get done with no reference to the regs and if you read the threads on here its descending into a complete farce.

A C1, C2 or C3 needs to be backed up with regs and details IMHO

So do any of the schemes require this?

Require what?

If you mean codes and info on which regs ........ not sure, but I like this on the EICr as it means customers can check my reasoning if they wish to ....... or if they seek a 2nd opinion from another spark

Totally on the Ball Murdoch.

Don’t think there’s any requirement for it but if I make any comments in the condition of existing installation then it’s always nice to back them up
