2 rings for kitchen?

I am working with a bloke who insists on putting in 2 rings for the kitchen - one for spurs one for sockets. So if you have a faulty appliance you can isolate and still have top sockets. Isnt that overkill?! Do any of you do the same?

If he is paying for 2 rings I can't see the problem. If I customer wanted a ring for every room in the house, they can have it as far as I'm concerned as long as the money comes fluttering by!

How can anyone have a problem with with this set-up?? Sounds to me, as if your working with an electrician that goes the extra mile for his customers. Certainly not ''over-kill''

Not sure why one member here wants everything labeled, all that's needed is the CU circuit chart being correctly indicated.
