Always wondered why they produce sockets where the Earth terminals are not linked.
From what I understand, it's to allow for a clean Earth.

They are linked they came about when Section 607 was introduced for maintaining the earth for equipment with high leakage currents the theory being that one terminal could come lose and having two reduced the possibility of an earth return loss.

They're used for computer rooms or science labs

F course only if the high integrity circuits were wired as described in 607

If that is your intention, leave the sockets alone, they already have in build shutters that is designed to make them childproof
Fitting those cover contraptions will no doubt vastly increase the danger to a child

Perhaps the covers can fit nicely in your waste bin where they no doubt belong

The rating of funny given to my post by the op is misguided
pneme82, Sorry to say but not for one moment was any of that post meant to be funny

Its your decision but I would have dropped that vertical trunking down the door frame and used the skirting rather than having it coming down full drop in the middle of the wall
By the way, glad to see that you have not fitted any of those dangerous plastic safety items into the unused outlet
