Just hopefully clear thing up regarding Conlok. Conlok Is a relatively new product to the industry, and is in no way linked to the outdated "Push Fit" system that used t be available.

Conlok fully complies with BS EN 61386, in all aspects including earthing.

Conlok is widely used in Large Electrical contracts, by the largest contractors in the UK. It has been used in the new Heathrow Terminal 2, in it's entirety and many many more of the UK's largest construction sites.

If you have ever seen used Conlok, can I request that you contact Demon Cato, and we will gladly send you some samples, rather than commenting in the negative about a product you have no personal experience of using !!!

HappyDundee has quite obviously used the product, and many thanks for his kind input !! :-)

Might I suggest you take a look at the state of the steel conduit in the loading bay of the local entertainment venue 'G live' in guildford. The building has been wired in steel conduit using your conlok fittings and within a month of the building opening it had fallen apart at the joints with the singles hanging out.
Hardly a great advert for this product!

I keep seeing them around and they bug me. Back in the 20's and 30's it was accepted that pin-grip and lug-grip conduit fittings were weak and only threaded joints were suitable for high class work. 40 years later, they were extinct. Another 40 years later and they're back - I hope they are better. Not had an opportunity to use any yet so I won't judge them.
im guessing its the same as the american conduit.

threading conduit doesnt take that long and its a better install, i wouldnt trust the thread on that tiny grub screw to hold conduit (usually they have greese etc on them)

they wont be sealed at all either unlike proper conduit, if you want quick plastic conduit is the only way

Welcome to the forum ...

Here's your chance then to defend the product.

I have viewed your promotion vid on line and have a few points I want answering.

-The normal threaded method of joining conduit give a very good IP seal to dust and water, noting the way you product uses a grub screw to push the conduit against the back wall of the box, what IP rating does it achieve on it joints?

-Metal conduit is often used as the safety earthing system of a circuit, A - does your systems still fully meet all the earthing needs an equivalent threaded version does? B - In an environment prone to vibration what measures have you taken in design to ensure the grubscrew doesn't work loose and putting the safety of uses at risk?

-In your video - where the hell did you find that guy threading the conduit?, his methods were poor, slow and I'd have sacked him if he didn't book his ideas up on my job!

-Like any manufacturer, the idea to make a profit, exactly what difference if any in cost is your product against the standard threaded versions.

-If you make a 1m squared of threaded 20mm conduit it will be a solid square and very hard to deform by hand, how would your system hold to the same challenge.. I cannot see it been as solid regardless if it meets certain British Standards... I would expect it would pivot on the grub screws a bit making it a substantially less rigid set-up... or are you relying on the saddles etc to avoid this issue? (Not every job can be saddled as you would want)

The video is obviously a complete con, when they show the tools required the threaded method requires a hacksaw and a die stock taken to pieces and the conlock only needs a screwdriver and Allen key? Does the conduit not need to be cut or reamed with the conlok system?
