2365 coursework 615 help with table 1

Hi Stear,

The file i uploaded was the sinario they gave me, yours might be different.
Contact your training provider to make sure your using the correct sinario. Otherwise you could do all that work for nothing.

Happy New Year

ive already done a load for nothing lol, i have emailed them, i cant say ill ever be using them again!

If you pm your question paper I'll see if it was the same as mine.

if your questions are like mine you should be able to do some of the questions without the sinario info:

like the ev charger earth fault loop drawing, shaver drawing for electrical separation, hotel room circuit layout, some of the questions from memory from 6-10 might require the wiring regs book.

Oh yer I’ve done all those, sounds like their the same, ill upload the questions, all ive been given was the question paper, a guide on answering q5, and the drawings, no scenarios, ive designed everything i was asked to, but how do you keep the final circuit length below 30m in the swimming pool area?

looks the same questions i had.
Regarding keeping circuit lengths to max 30m you can use multiple circuits, junction boxes, use a contactor etc to help reduce or branch off ie like a radial circuit in a house for lighting with a branch off at the kitchen for the multiple downlights, you would then measure each path & see which is the longest.

@forum mods

Now that Stear has download my scanned document regarding assignment specifications etc that i used for my assignment you might want to delete the file from my post further up?
Now removed.

Ah ok I’ve already done something similar, I was trying to keep it as clean as I could in regards to switching, I don’t like using JB’s in practice, galv boxes to split in steel structure but still keep them to a minimum but hey ho, thanks for all your help

Hi Guys, Im Dan, new member currently enrolled on 2365 L3. Having trouble with 305 Task A.

Not sure if anybody had any joy with this assignment, i'm unsure if i'm looking in to it too much or not but I would appreciate any help I can get.

-Has anybody included pool lighting i.e. Zone 0 for under water line?
- Some of the symbols shown in the pool/café block are not shown in BS7671, the on site guide or anywhere, BS7671 actually refers to IEC60617 and the symbols shown are not taken directly from that standard...
1. The square in the pool and equipment room - I can only assume this is some sort of Isolation point?
2. The box with the cross in the male/female changing rooms - I think its a 2 pole safety switch?
3. the socket outlets must just also be twin gang switched sockets?

Apologies if they're obvious but I am not from a commercial/domestic background, I work purely with industrial control systems.

Any feedback would be great!

Thanks,
Dan

Hiya mate,

I sat down with a tutor the other day who’s walked through what they mark on for the coursework which was handy!

In regards to lighting their just looking primarily for data sheets showing you have done some reasearch so don’t go too far and make it harder for yourself, a half decent type of IP lighting that looks nice will do the job.

I’m pretty sure you can ignore all the other symbols already on the drawing, their irrelevant to what you need to do so don’t worry about it! I believe the rectangles with half shaded black diagonally are fuseboard a, at least that’s how my boss usually shows them so that’s what I’m going with

A few of us at college thought about it but was advised not over complicate it.
Also, don't put lights over the pool, one of the lads did & then was asked what happens when they need maintenance lol

1, The square in the pool & equipment room is a 3 phase supply.
2, FCU for hand dryer blowers
3, I personally used double sockets but you can put what you want.

Regarding your PM the scenario I got might be different to yours.
Your provider will give you your scenario.
It will tell you what type of cable to use, whats 3phase, ambient temps for kitchen cafe & pool areas, Ze & Zdbs for the pool cafe etc.
You will need this info like Zdb to calculate your Zs etc.

Completed this assignment in July. Make sure you check out all areas in detail and read the spec fully 10 times.

There's a lot of things in there to trip you up i.e. don't forget lighting for your stair wells, nobody thought about this in my group. Also, a lot of people forgot about the alarm circuit which is located in the cafe, this is briefly mentioned in your spec.

Only a couple of small examples but missing these little details can cause you a lot of trouble if you need to go back and re-design your layout. I restarted 5 times due to stupid mistakes and rethinking what I was doing.

Hi guys,

still on this assignment - well its been on hold if in honest - do you know if putting a plasterboard or suspended ceiling in the pool area is allowed? not sure if you came across this - i'm just thinking that the space can be utilised to house recessed lights and to assist running conceiled cables.

I know it says you can make reasonable assumptions and personally I think this counts as just that, would rather get feedback on here rather than wait months from the college and have to re-submit the thing.

Thanks
Dan

It says on there what you can have mate, pretty sure it states it’s a concrete ceiling and cables would be in pvc conduit and that’s it, I used IP65 LED strip lights as their non corrosive and give out plenty of light, and then just conduit fitting round led fittings for the other areas, IP 44 and work well with the conduit system in place
