Hi mate no i havnt got 2330 i tried a few times to get on this course
i had a apprenticeship as a electrician 25 yrs ago which as a foolish 16-17 yr old gave up as i felt i wasnt learning, so gave up after being used as a dogs body for a year anyway
always been involved on and off with electrical installation mate doing 3-4 yrs on site from 18 doing new build domestic and residental homes also rewires, some commercial and later bits of industrial
then more rewires, maintainance including electrical on a commercial premises
tried many times to get back on a aprrenticeship type course but never got anywhere
my partner was left disabled after op in march 2005 so i had to be her carer in 2006 tried again to get help to either get training, or funding but as i am a carer not classed as unemployed so there is no training ,help with finding work or funding and was told that i am exempt from looking for work and do no get any help as a result of this in 2009 i had to pay privatly for a training course for fairly basic quals for a large amount of cash £4020 for a 6 week training course with reactfast which was discounted from £5020?
for 17th, 2377, 2393 and logic part p full scope and defined scopes which yes i know it was 1 week of about 15 exams and practical assignments on bays and prob not worth the paper or competence achievment card
I tried again to get on 2330 but couldnt so i enrolled for the 2391-10 at college for £540 at bury college and studied every day for 4 month took exam last june and passed first time the only question that had me was this
I knew it was something to do with ohms law but as the only way i was shown how to do volt drop on the courses i did was mv/A/M x length divide 1000 but in the back of my head Ohms law was there so i just kept going over it and in the end did it
Here is the question which amazingly i still remember
Q26
During the course of the inspection one of the single phase radial circuits supplying an item of fixed equipment is to be checked for voltage drop compliance the circuit has the following charicteristics
. load current = 45A
. circuit length = 80m
. live conductors =10mm
a) using the information provided in figure 1 determine wether the circuit meets the requirments for voltage drop. Show all calculations fig 1 table csa size and resistance 10mm = 1.83m/ohm at 20 C
Answer as i did
R= mohm/m x L divided by 1000
R= 1.83 x 2 x 80 divide by 1000
R= 292.8 divide 1000
R= 0.2928
R=0.3 ohms rounded up

V = R x I
= 0.3 x 45
= 13.5
Vd = 13.5v

but i was told i needed to include a correction facor for increase in temp for operating temp?

b) State
i) a suitable observation to be recorded on the periodic inspection report if the voltage drop fails to comply
b) answer
i) Volatge drop Not acceptable does not comply with 5% value of 11.5v

b)
ii) one action which could be taken to rectify the situation in b) above this was also a clue lol
ii) answer
Increase the Csa of the conductors

ohms law was in my mind from 25 yrs ago lol and the 6 week training and all the study i had done myself hour after hour every day for 4 month
then again tried to get on C&G 2330 either lv 3 alone or the whole course to be told it was ending and the colleges near me are full
contacted C&G 2357 mainly for apprentice 16-18 yr old or have to be employed and the company be willing to allow me to go college for 3 yr or more at the age of 40

so now i am looking at registering for nvq 2356 lv 3 before end date of 31.3.11 and setting up registering with elecsa all paid for by ourselves not easy mate
