2391 is changing.

I did not fully provide all the info either, thinking about the answers I have given, the courses will go on past 1/1/12 for those who are part way through to complete and for resits.
However, I was told the new courses would start, and that there would be no transfer of credit available.
These would be based on the new EICR etc. in Amd1.

Can 2391 units be used towards achievement of the 2394, 2395 or 2396?
It is not anticipated that candidates who hold 2391 units will be able to use these towards the newqualifications. Candidates who have achieved one of the 2391 units but not completed the fullqualification should ensure they complete the remaining unit prior to the final certification date.
Please note that the 2391-301 and 2391-303 exams are not likely to continue beyond mid-2012,although this is subject to demand. They may continue beyond this date, but with a reducednumber of examinations per year.

Please explain I have my 2391 and have had since 1998 I have lots of experience in testing and inspection having worked for myself as well as many companies mobs etc will I not be able to continue testing from January 2012 or am I getting mixed up please put me right

Your 2391 will still be valid but once it changes you won't be able to take the new version of 2391-20

If you did want to do it you'd have to do all three courses (including the replacement 2391-10)

if you have 2391 now then yes its still valid

i heard that as from 1/01/12they will change and in 5 yrs from that date all who have taken 2391 will need to retake the new qualifications and every 5 yr after that wether this is complete tosh i dont know
all I know is i am sick of them moving the goal posts and scamming us one way or another

If it is a dumbed down version why make people who have 2391 retake the new course, it serves no purpose whatsoever

I'm only just getting into all this. God knows how you lot have put up with all the chopping and changing of quals over the years.

Totally agree rip of so if you have your 2391 now you won't have to do a refreser until2017 still wrong but at least don't have to do exam for another 5 years

I had been told prior to doing 2391 that it was for life and wouldnt have to be retaken they talk rubbish especially at C&G they kept telling me 2330 lv3 was ending march 31st then had email saying on APRILS FOOLS day sorry the qualification has been extended until 31/7/12 I aint even going into the hassle I have had with them they are useless
should just be 1 set of exams for all with updates only when absolutley necessarry not every other week as it is at minute jsut as you get one they tell you you need another get that and find out its ending and will become obsolete

they should sack a few people at the c&g and Iet then with the money they save they could hold off on updates to all the quals and books

2391 is for life. You cannot retrospectively change that.

Some part p providers were on about re doing sommat again every 5 yrs but that's irrelevant they might not be here in 5 years! put yer cert on the wall and forget about it. It's yours!
