Hi is the 2391 still the qualification needed for aprooved electrician status thanks

If you have 2391 and want to upgrade to approved then so long as you have 17th edition as well you are good to go.
If you do not have 2391 then you would now need 2394 and 2395 instead.
alternatively Level 4 Award in the Design and Verification of Electrical Installations OR City and Guilds 2391-02 OR City & Guilds 2400 Design Erection and Verification, and a bona fide reference from your employer confirming your competence and experience in this role.

So to carry out periodics and to get aprooved on my jib card am i right in saying im going to have to do the 2394 and 2395 exams? at the moment i have my c&g 2330 ,level 3 nvq and 17th edition

According to the lads on here who teach it there's very little difference

Oooh, I'm sure there's one vociferous individual on here, who has done all three, and reckons the two new ones are harder.
Me, got 2391, NO WAY am I ever going to pay for more bits of paper with different numbers on them.

I think just 2394 and your good to go with existing quals. Most places offer a deal for 2394+5 combined courses so for an extra £200incVAT it'd be worth it
