How does this fare for the repetition of box chasing & channelling plaster for chases etc...

The auctions says it has 1.8 joules of impact force. One of my farts after a curry and a few pint has more power than that.

I would recommend pickin up a cheapy from b&poo or wickes etc for about £50 then you can completely abuse & not feel too bad when it dies. Got a professional one from wickes at the minute which gets battered everyday and is still goin 2 yrs later

Hi claret, You need 2Kg SDS with 2.4 Joules or greater impact for chasing work and up to 25mm diameter holes in masonry. Take a look at Makita HR2470-2, Milwaukee PH26, Dewalt D25113K, Dewalt D25013K-GB or Bosch GBH 2-26DRE

As I don't do any heavy Industrial stuff and very little Commercial, but I have been doing New Builds and has been a Ball Ache dragging a 110V up 3 floors. For a cordless, mainly getting used for back box fixing and 10-25mm holes through brick/block what do you reckon to the 18V LiON SDS's that are about? The 110V would be useful for any chasing stuff...

That Dewalt sds is absolute pants!!! We've got one in work and the biggest hole you can drill with it is a 5.5mm for a red plug, that's it!! Anything bigger and you'll smell burning..... Mmmmmmm wonder where its coming from ey??? I wouldn't use it to drill through butter.

I'm in the same boat, need an sds (battery or corded) and came across this Silverline Tools - Power Tools / Silverstorm Power Tools. (850w, 7th one down BTW) £55 new with grantee and for that price I can abuse it like I didn't own it (could have put something else but I don't want to be banned again ). What do you reckon?

That doesnt seem too bad Paul! But I've used Silverline products in the past, accessories mainly and they don't last long. I think I'll be looking at a 230V for now as I'm domestic mostly...Used an 18V Bosch the other week from the hire shop & did what I needed but didn't have a rota stop...
