I have looked a small office refurb where currently installed are recessed 2x 26w PL CFL's (about 50 in total).

Client doesn't want to replace light fittings which might also mean some ceiling repairs so looking to just replace lamps with LED equivalent.

Has anyone any recommendations for direct replacements, they are non-dimmable and appear to be in series (ie both work or none work if one is removed). Believed to be electronic ballasts although still need to be confirmed.

CEF I noticed online do the Fusion range but info is limited.

Thanks in advance.

Do you have any pictures of the existing fittings for optimum performance and light output replacing the fittings would be the best option in a lot of cases the LED replacement / alternative lamps don't cut it

I agree something like this www.cef.co.uk/catalogue/products/4799465-22w-led-300mm-low-profile-downlight-4000k I originally had in mind but they want to keep the old fittings.
Maybe just as, if not moreso cost effective to replace them so some convincing to do!

Are the PL CFLs direct replacement or do they require the ballast bypassing like other fluorescent.

Those round flat panels can be picked up for half that CEF, apply you own vasaline, prices, and from a wholesaler so you have some peace of mind.

Are they all pessently lit and working?as. With 50 of them heat damage will almost certainly have rendered a few useless.

There are so many of the round panels on the market you are almost guaranteed to find an exact size match that require no alterations to the ceiling.

Sounds like one of those situations where you need to be a little more assertiveness lead the customer to the best option.

With the PL LED replacement coming in at £10 each that's £20/fitting. Time(?) Lamp only 5mins a fitting, ballast bypass 15mins a fitting.

Unknowns, how many fittings are knackered, how many lamp holders are fried and need replacing?

So £1000 parts plus 4hrs or 12hrs if wiring mods required.

If I was buying 50 I could get 220mm 18W round panels for c£10, 10mins/light fitting. No unknowns.

LED Round Panels.

£500 parts, 8hrs, no unknowns.

Also, are any emergency fittings? Not sure they will cope with an LED replacement, well worth having an answer before quoting.
