I had 2 fractured a few years ago, bloody horrible.

I was told to try and take a deep breath every now and then to help prevent infection.

30mg Codeine Phosphate. max of 8 per day.

I have access to Morphine if needed! Elderly neighbor we look after does not like the effects so we have a stock pile if I need it lol.

The Doctor said that rib injury pain increases over the first 5 days, then peaks. Not looking forward to that, Morphine is on stand by.

Got some Tramadol, good stuff man lol

Oh yeah 2 of those will do the job, Ihad some of those once, 500mg standard looking paracetemol tabs with 30mg of codeine in each...so 60mg in total.... I reckon you could stab your self and not feel it...

on a nother drug note I accidentally (!) took a tarmazipan once, as i thought it was the same as diazipan my mate took when his back was bad (mine was too).... Went to sleep..... Woke up eventually...and my arm just kept missing the bedside table as it was a blur and a haze... Never been so spaced out in my life! And that was just one.

boy did I get a rollocking for that (missus is a Anaesthetist)

Sorry to hear that, Paul. Hope for your sake they're wrong about the pain getting worse for the first 5 days. Keep taking the pills. :)

my lady had been taking tramadol like sweets and they didn't cut it. then doctor advised her to go out and buy some paracetamol, after a&e had asked for supply of pain relief better than tramadol. i prescribed 1/2 bottle of JD.

Thanks Steve, hope he is wrong as well.

Whatever you do, try not to sneeze!

Or cough, bend over, stretch, lift anything or sit in an awkward position lol.

Thanks GMES for the sympathy you big ape :sifone:

or sit in an awkward position lol.

that's buggered you for testing out my new electric chair design then.

This afternoon I called 3 of my customers for next week, two of them I have done work for before. Left a message saying that another electrician will be doing their work so nothing has changed for them. Both of them called me back asking if I was ok and wishing me all the best, bless them. One of them is a Chiropractor and is giving me a free check up when I go to his house with my mate when we/he dose the job.

Anyway, the band The Verve were wrong... Drugs do work

I had a similar experience with diazapan when I prolapsed a disc. The doc at the hospital gave me morphine in the usual place and told me to take the diazapan when it was wearing off.
I only took one , I didn't know where I was, it was an awful sensation; I kicked them to touch and took codeine and paracetamol together , not as good for the pain, but at least I knew who I was lol.

A bit unlucky there, mate. Hope you recover quickly. At least a fortnight off, I would say. Then it's take it easy for another couple of weeks.
Had a couple of rib cracks through sport...not pleasant.
