Right then, nice one geeza.....I got a few options to offer her then.....If I install standard meters she is just going to have to get a lesson from me as to the read outs....Thx alot Gents

Key meters can be bought privately, but if this is in Maida Vale I think key meters would go down like a lead balloon with the tenants.

Resale of electricity is subject to legislation but to be honest I can’t recall what it is. I should know, the last place I worked had over 100 tenants and 2 pubs fed from the distribution system. One thing I do recall was, because we were a bulk user of power the tenants got there power cheap.

Will have a look at doing the spreadsheet for you tomorrow.

Hi tony, where did u get the key meters from, I spent ages trying to find a seller and how do you go about getting the keys charged ?, as i said in earlier post i had to fit card meters.
i would be grateful for some help with where to purchase them from

thanks Andy

Great advice from everyone. If it was me i would do as advised and install 6 normal single phase meters (Elster A100CS are good) then she can get the main meter read each month, get all the sub meter reads make sure they add up to the main meter and then split the bill proportionately between the tenents making sure she keeps good records in case of queries.

"Changes to the rules mean that landlords will be unable to charge tenants more money for electricity than they have paid for it." Ofgem 2002 Landlords can not charge a 'mark up'.
