3 position switch ; ON-OFF-ON

Hello
I'm after a switching solution to my shed exterior lighting.
The shed is located 20metres from my house and is currently switched locally by a standard weatherproof on/off switch.
I'd like to have remote switching to illuminate my path down to shed.
I've looked at PIR switching but the range seems to be limited to about 12 metres.
I've looked at wireless switching but that's very expensive.
I like the idea of photocell switching but i'd like the option of an override facility to manually switch on the light before twilight or after dusk or to switch the lights off completely i.e when i'm away from home.
I was thinking of a switch that can switch the line conductor ON-OFF-ON and to be weatherproof.

MK do a 2-way and off switch module for their MK Logic Plus grid.

Cheers for that suggestion but I believe that's a retractive switch. I'm looking for a 3 position switch that does not reset to centre 'off' position.

It's not retractive. Or at least there is a non-retractive version - I've used them before.

They do both, K4899WHI is not a retractive one.

Not expensive at all.Just needs mounting in a weather proof box with the antenna sticking out of the bottom.

If the switch must be outdoors. Use an MK Masterseal Grid box K56414WHI with the K4899WHI 3-way grid switch module. Sorted.

Why do you need that arrangement?

I would just like the comfort of knowing that if the photocell went ---- up then I could still switch my lights on.

Not quite. Neither a DIYer or a qualified spark. Getting there though.....completed an EAL Level 2 Diploma in Electrical Installations last month so am quietly confident I can wire a light switch. Level 3 starts in September

I felt it was relevant cos I won't be enlisting the services of a qualified electrician.

You are correct that it is not notifiable, but that is irrelevant.

Unless I'm much mistaken, as Wales still uses the 2010 version of Part P (which is much stricter than the 2013 edition used in England when it comes to what constitutes a special location/special installation), adding a light to or modifying a circuit that is outside, would require notification as outdoor lighting and power installations are considered special installations.

The MK K4899WHI is not retractive. They do both types. Same with Click. There are both types.
