Yes, another example of what gives genuine testers a bad name.If I can do 120 tests in a day I feel I've done well, but then I check every plug, fuse, flex and appliance thoroughly and ensure that the client always has a print out showing all results.
At least I can sleep at night.

Maybe you can pass some of your work to our Tony ???

He suffers terribly from insomnia.

We don't do a great deal of pat as we apear to be to expensive, or slow
being a sinical sort of chap I wonder if I would be possible if you had an office with 100 computers to test the same one 100 times while someone stickers the other 99.

i guess if the client looked at the results which they don't he would notice.

i am not saying this is what happened in this case but the numbers being talked about seem massive

I don't think any portable appliance test equipment could test 1000 appliances in an 8hr day without some sort of equipment failure even if it was just a bit of overheating causing a delay with no problems it is just less than 30 seconds on the tester per appliance throw in a few cooling down periods a few tester reboots and possibly a results download (assuming they are logging the tests) to avoid a data loss and the whole thing is just impossible to do accurately and provide the client with the correct documentation in 8 hours

Deary Dear what next a £60 EICR

I had a landlord who i have never worked for before ring me last year asking me for a price for a "Landlords Safety Certificate". I gave him my price and he said " That's a bit steep, my usual lad does it for £80!!" Needless to say I still haven't worked for this particular landlord.
