Funny how people perceive buying a car. I paid £6999 for a 14 plate kia rio 14 months ago. only had 24k miles on it and the remainder of the 7 year warranty, I look at it as a 10 year purchase. its looked after and maintained and will last no problem. Funny thing is the sales guy in the dealership asked when i might upgrade or sell! i told him when it stops working and is no longer cost effective to repair. He seemed shocked I wouldnt want to get a new model in a few years.
He said most people keep them for 3 years from new then return to keep up with the jones but of late the 7 year warranty has meant people keep them longer. I cant fault the kia warranty mind, yes i pay £189 for a service each year but it meant when i needed some brakes changing they did it for parts only as part of the service.
I do think if people lived within their means the economy would grind to a halt rather quick, its all fueled on debt.....
I sold a 2004 Lotus and bought a 2003 Subaru Legacy lets see how that pans out so far its on the up insurance wise.........

Don't ask about the house......... ;o(((((((

house insurance is worth it though, when i was 15 or so i flooded my parents house, from the upstairs bathroom, about 40k worth of damages, that new year my uncle informed me that if i was his son hed have beaten the ---- out of me lol

the insurance covered it thankfully, the joiners they sent to fit the custom french doors kept bolloxing up the doors , the apprentice joiners dad wanted to come out and fight my dad because his son was getting grief from his employer for ruining several expensive doors, the guy had been patching up bits of wood with cutouts from wood that didnt even match, dunno why he was taking chunks out of the door either

the insurance paid out as although i left the tap on overnight, the wastepipe was blocked
