Hi there,

just wondering what the average pay is for a 3rd and final year apprentice, I have level 2, started level 3 with my 301 and my site diary nearly completed. I'm coming up to my final year and just want to get an idea of what sort of money I should be expecting. I've looked on the JIB site and it has stage 1, 2, 3, 4 but I have no idea how this is relevant as most apprenticeships are lasting 3 years arent they?

Cheers,

John

P.s. Sorry I noticed I spelt apprentice wrong.

Hello mate, I've just qualified. Before I did I was on ÂŁ7 an hour. It's so varied mate, from where in the country to the type of work you do.

Dont be to greedy with your wage, remember it's all about getting qualified. That's when you should start to earn proper money.

I hope so always......!

Someone in the company I work has just qualified ( bout 9 months ago) and he's only on ÂŁ9ph

It all depends on how u work, if ur a lazy worker then your not gonna be paid as much. If u work hard then chances are, you'll be rewarded

And as someone has said. It's about getting qualified. I would take less money if it meant better training from the boss

I just got qualified myself and I've been working for agencies for quite a while. I've never seen a wage at the recommended ecs suggestion. Ive received anything from 6.00 to 9.50 for an adult trainee. It depends on supply and demand. First thing is get some work. Show them what your made of then have a chat to your bosses. If you feel like your getting shafted then shop around as they say. But one thing is for sure. Get qualified. It's your first stepping stone.

A full apprenticeship is four years with a training provider like JTL. You will only get the JIB rates if your company is a JIB firm or your company uses the rates as a guide which in today circumstances probably not.

Average wage up here on agency is

mates 9-10 per hour
electricians 13-14 per hour

I started my training in 2006. where i learnt 2330 level 2 - 3 before getting a job in 2008. when i started on arround ÂŁ5ph about a year later i went to ÂŁ6.87ph that was my rate up to september 2010 when i was made redundant with a few bits left for my NVQ. Then i went to another firm where i was hoping to complete my NVQ with them this never happened for various reasons, he was paying me Min Wage his fully qualified electrician was on around ÂŁ6.50 he had no 2391. Then since March I've been on ÂŁ8.93ph with this other firm and everything is going well and im hopping to get everything done by October. then after then I belive ill be on ÂŁ12ph

1995 all qualifications up to but not including 2391 and the most qualified on the firm with own transport , tool's and a average 100 hour week in pharmaceutical plants where we had to sign disclaimers when we went up in the loft voids in case we got ill from the product dust and one place where we had radiation badges and had to go through Body scanners before being let back out in to the public after work ( still got a dose !!!! ) .
All for -- get this ! ÂŁ2:50 ph .
And at pay review time my foreman who was a first year day release Say's beware it could go down as easily as up !!!!!!!
I promptly explained what else could go up his """""" and jacked .

:sifone: Class

I jacked and went self-employed, and even on improver rates which I am happy to work for I can make a previous weeks wages in three days. All that and the van, tools, 2391, etc goes back through the books.

Sorted. :)
