4Kw omnik inverters?

Hi guys,

any of you lot heard of omnik inverters? they are chinese and have a g83 cert the data sheet looks ok but ive never
heard of them just wondered if they was any good?
these seem to be the only 4kw inverters i can get my hands on at the mo.

omnik inverters are pure garbage,very high failure rate,

Actually nationally the failure rate is around 2%, which is in line with everyone else, but don't let facts get in the way of a good story.

I know for a fact that the failure rate is about 40% with these inverters, I have first hand experience with them,

I've also heard worrying things about the Omnik units, feedback I received was a 10% failure rate. OP - we have 3.8 Eltek units in stock if that helps?

We used one Omnik inverter. We have had one failure. Suppliers were as much use a rubber crowbar. Won't be using again.

Just lost out to a quote for a 4 kW system using this inverter for £4,700. Apparantly it swithches on an hour earlier and an hour later. I had to laugh as the design in terms of voltage range is only slightly different to the sunny boys. It wont be hours it will be minutes at most.

Oh well.....we'd have made no profit on this job if we had matched them anyway

Crikey that's low - how has anyone beat that and making any profit?! Are they putting up cardboard panels or something?

If they're anything like the idiots that threw the job in that we saw last week then they're probably saving money on scaffold. 45 degree angle roof with a load of panels thrown on with the top panel above the ridge line.

They also saved money on a decent electrician - the DC cabling was thrown in by a roof monkey and literally no clips were used. God only knows what we'd have found if we had have digged deeper into the job.

REAL and MCS registered. So that's what you're up against.
