99% of my kit is CK I bought the technicians kit and have just kept adding to it very happy so far I like to have everything matching and i'm a bit of a tool/gadget -----

Them snips are not worth 40 quid! They were my first ever snips when I got started out with the CK technicians kit. I didn't know a lot then but I struggled like hell to cut anything bigger then 2.5 cable with them. They went in the bin along with the technicians bag. More of a Knipex side cutters man myself.

Mine too I'm afraid. They came loose on the hinge and went blunt 3 years ago after a year.

Since had a pair of Knipex with a chrom finish on the top, been used every day and still fine.

Why do they have the interlocking rubber bit just below the hinge? i have to stanley them off or they pinch my hand

Quite simply, the VDE institute required that we added the safety interlock so that there is no possible chance of you coming into touch with the wire bending anvil at the back of the pliers when they are open and being used on potentially live wires.
