reading through the posts ,it seems that some people ask questions and are ignored or put down ; then another person who says there a spark asks a really stupid ( well if there an electrician its a stupid question) and people give them all the help in the world . answering the same thing twice or breaking it down for them.
or asking how much should i charge etc etc why this disparency :confused5:

Since 'photo' is an abbreviation of 'photograph', the apostrophe in this case is actually correct, as it replaces the missing letters. The Grammar Police.

Ooh! That's low.

I'd argue not. Yes, apostrophes can replace missing letters (the Thomas the Tank Engine books that I'm reading to my kid, that used to be mine, for instance, use 'bus as an abbreviation of (I assume) omnibus) or more generally "bar t'at".

But not with plurals.

Oxford Dictionaries back me up on this.

This forum is fast becoming a place where you are "damned if you do and damned if you don't" if you post something negative in answer to a question you get slated and now if you follow the advice of some and choose to ignore a question you get flack what is this forum coming too

People will pay £1000's for getting trained quick then expect the experienced members on here to provide answers to what the training centre didn't teach them for free then tell us that they are as competent as anyone to work in someone's house and show pictures of the mess a supposedly "time served spark" left, yes it will get backs up and some bite harder than others but that is life

If I choose not to respond or respond negatively to a question that is my prerogative as it is every body else's on this forum this world is becoming too PC in more ways than one and it is difficult to be critical or tell somebody they are a fool nicely however much they have spent

Interesting - it seems that because nobody says photograph anymore, and the word photo has become the norm then it no longer needs an apostrophe.

This is the same that happened with 'bus' - originally it was 'omnibus', then became abbreviated to ' 'bus ', and then just 'bus' with no apostrophe.

PS I need to get out more. Daz

Dont worry he'll be back in a week, charging in like a Morris Dancer at an Islamic funeral.

Look on the bright side? He has got two weeks of rubbish posts to reply to!!! (including this one lol).

Apparently PC World have donated 2 laptops to him in their anticipation of his return. The first one he will melt the plastic keys with his "Fingers of Fire" replying to stupid questions that ""electricians"" ask. The 2nd laptop is reserved solely for the use on Electrical Trainee's and DIYer's.

Jeremy Clarkson told me in the pub the other night that he heard from a friend of a friend(the Old Stig) that the forum sponsors have issued ear protectors and a book called "How to Grow a Think Skin and Man Up IN 7 Days" to all forum members with a post count lower than 100

I saw a local news bulletin the other day saying "That all the internet electrical china shops within a 25 mile radius of Glenn are close as from the end of next week".

"How many electricians does it take to change a light bulb?" None, Glenn can do it by just using the power of his mind! Lol (he'll love that one  )

When he is back, God help anyone asking about exporting PME to a shed, I dont have a tester and the RCD is tripping, I wired up the cooker using 1.5mm and dont know why my customers house is now on fire?

Ok Glenn, you and me (or, you and I, for the ones that want to pick me up on grammar lol) have had a bust up and a falling out over these past 6 months or so. Just thought I would have a laugh with the forum lads whilst you are on "holiday". No offence intended Glenn. If I wanted to offend you, I'd just post up photo's of you (you know the ones that I have got as well????)

Well that is my public reconciliation attempt, copied, pasted and e-mailed to Glenn as I dont talk about people behind their backs. A lot of people are missing Glenn, dont get banned again FFS. See you soon.

Just don’t bring up that temporary supply. The one straight off the cut-out with no meter….lol.

Generally speaking local earthing will rarely be below a couple of ohms, so in parallel with a TN-S sub-ohm value will make little difference...
