reading through the posts ,it seems that some people ask questions and are ignored or put down ; then another person who says there a spark asks a really stupid ( well if there an electrician its a stupid question) and people give them all the help in the world . answering the same thing twice or breaking it down for them.
or asking how much should i charge etc etc why this disparency :confused5:

why is a semicolon not 1/2 of a full colon?
Good question. Try thinking about it another way. On paper, it's made up of a comma, and a full stop. It consists of attributes of both of these; it's half way between a comma and a full stop.

(Really will stop now.)

See, this is what I'm talking about! How can anyone learn how to grow thick skin in 7 days?!? It just beggars belief! The proper route to becoming a certified thick skin individual is 3 years at college, then on the job training as an apprentice, only later adding extra qualifications such as "Thick Hide," "Thick Ears" and "Thick Head." It really scares me, these 7dw read the book, front up to a bit of gentle joshing, think they know it all and before they know it they go off onto the forum late on a Friday evening, correct someone's grammar, and then a guy with "SPARK" in his name rips them a new a***hole.

photos ;)

I was talking to a TV aerial specialist about this very subject today... we both came to the conclusion that KIDS think they know it all. The result is that they WON'T ask for advice on site, nor learn how to ask a proper question. This is demonstrated on this forum with a lack of information and "back ground" information.

Also, some of the muppets don't know how to use sentences, grammar or paragraphs to communicate either.

Just my 2 pennies worth!

As my signature states "need more information"

Oh dear. Needless repetition in an otherwise well constructed paragraph. Ha ha.

Edit: Is it a paragraph broken into two sentences by the use of three 'periods'? Or is it actually one sentence?

This forum is fast becoming a place where you are "damned if you do and damned if you don't" if you post something negative in answer to a question you get slated and now if you follow the advice of some and choose to ignore a question you get flack what is this forum coming too

People will pay £1000's for getting trained quick then expect the experienced members on here to provide answers to what the training centre didn't teach them for free then tell us that they are as competent as anyone to work in someone's house and show pictures of the mess a supposedly "time spark" left, yes it will get backs up and some bite harder than others but that is life

If I choose not to respond or respond negatively to a question that is my prerogative as it is every body else's on this forum this world is becoming too PC in more ways than one and it is difficult to be critical or tell somebody they are a fool nicely however much they have spent

..what is this forum coming to?

In this usage, back and ground become one word to give the required meaning.

Background

I am seriously considering abandoning my electrical studies to learn how to program, so that I can write an add-on to Firefox that will (much like Adblock Plus does with adverts) blank out all posts that:

1. just correct grammar, spelling or punctuation
2. tlk in txt spk lol
3. provide insufficient information to allow others to make an informed observation

The forum would be very quiet (and I wouldn't be able to see most of my own posts).

Who will help fund this venture? All I ask is £10 from each of you. Western Union is best. Ta.

Edit: Looks like someone's already done the bare bones (filter selected posters, rather than specific posts).

Generally speaking local earthing will rarely be below a couple of ohms, so in parallel with a TN-S sub-ohm value will make little difference...
