Hi. I never post on here but felt that I need to ask a question. Im doing a job. I asked him if he wanted a price upfront but he said no whatever it is it is. This is the list of what ive done.
- Changed 8 skts
- Changed 8 lt sw
- Wired 3 lts and sw in cupboard
- wired and fitted 7 downlts
- wired 3 extra skts and 2 spurs
- relocated a tv point
- put a new back box in
I was there for 24 hours and used £50 Diesel. I woyld like to know how much you would charge?

Thanks for the reply guys. Great help just new to working myself. The job was a bit of a nightmare and customer kept on adding extra work onto job. In future I will be giving price up front to save any problems.

Whenever I've needed to employ a solicitor, he's always given me a note before starting the job which includes a phrase something like: "We estimate our final bill for the completion of this work to be no more than £xxxx" so I've always known what the worst case scenario would be - and it's always been very close to that !!!

That's the kind of thing that you should be putting in your estimate, BUT add the any additional work that the customer may decide to add as the work progresses will be charged separately at the rate of £xx / hour + materials.
