Further courses that cover design more deeply are available that cover all the aspects of this thread all i was putting across was in my days you had to know it to be an electrician but now they are coming out of college only domestic ready but crucially they believe they are good to go on the larger installs of say commercial and industrial of which they are not unless its a simple circuit addition or alteration.....
Its made clear often on here when questions are asked from qualified electricians not as a reminder as we all do forget or need a hint when we haven't used that area of regs for a while but because they never even covered it in college.... and considering this is in relation to the 3-4 yr courses then i dread to think whats been chopped down to get a Electrical Trainee course
