Hi Guys, been reading for a while but never posted. Just after a bit of advice to check what I intend to do meets with current regulations.
I'm looking to add one extra Double Socket to my garage in my new build home.
The set up is as follows: garage detached from house so armoured cable from the back of the house underground into Consumer Unit in garage containing 4 breakers. One for the light and one for the Double socket installed. For this socket, a single Twin / earth wire comes directly from the back of the circuit breaker into the double socket.
My question is - Is it acceptable to take a spur off of this set up for another double socket? I'm aware its allowable to take spurs on ring/ radial circuits as long as it is only one spur per socket but this set up I've found has thrown me a little bit. I've attached pictures of the set up for reference.
Thanks in advance for any advice offered.
(Please note - I'd be looking to do this properly and run the 2.5mm2 cable straight up from the existing socket and along the rafters and straight back down to the additional location, all in 20mm plastic conduit. )
