Hi guys.

I have been asked to upgrade a fire alarm system in a factory.
As the system stands, there are three seperate alarm panels, 1 containing 8 zones, 1 containing 4 zones and another containing another 4 zones. So essentional there are 3 individual systems within the premise.

They would like to keep it seperate but would also like to be able to access each individual system from any one panel.
Is this possible? And what system would be best to go with.

Cheers
Richard

When you state access from each panel, i presume you mean full functioned operation of all other panels......It sounds a small/medium factory with only a 16 zones so depending on layout, you can install the following....1, a 16 zone panel with 2 repeaters (lot or rewiring) 2, Three addressable 1 loops panels, networked together....3, One addressable panel and 2 repeaters...With addressable panels, the wiring will be easier and quicker, with the system show exact location of detectors.

I'm not looking for work as I an busy enough don't even know where the job is. As this is a complex system I thought I could help. To much info needed to post on forum.

OK but its not that complex, try breaking your ideas down like a list...you might have ideas others have missed, this can be an interesting forum, when we throw ideas back and forth.

might be wrong but if you modify a fire alarm system wouldn,t you be responsible for that system to function correctly ,and if anything went wrong you would be the person responsible

Any replacement would require a modification and commission certificate, and the installing company, would be responsible for the correct operation of that system

Thank you! I have some thinking to do by the looks haha

Just wanted to say that if you want to go ahead with that fire alarm job I can help you. I'm not looking for any work but I can provide you with a addressable system to meet your requirements and I will fully program it so all you would need to do is fit it and test it yourself. we provide product support so you can then go on to service it yourself.
All I would need is
How many devices the zone and text for the areas
how you want the system to work ie what you want it to do when it goes off. Do you want it to evaluate all areas or individual areas. The system I use you can take up to 250 devices on one loop so you proberly will only need to wire it all in one loop. Sounders will go on the same loop. You will be able to fit repeaters into the other units on a different loop but that is it. The rest will be done in the programming
From any of the repeaters the customer will be able to silence the alarm and reset it
If you would like any more info on this then please put a reply on the forum

From what I can work out the best way to go would be a networked addressable system comprising of up to three panels/ repeaters depends on what has been installed and how.
To be able to advise you better we need to know what systems are there at the moment and if they are conventional or addressable or a mix of both and if any part is addressable what make of detectors are fitted, ideally how many devices and there types we can then best advise you on what way to go it would also be helpful to know what system type is required (L1, L2 P3 etc) as keeping the split could be interesting programming the cause and effect (investigation delays etc)

Hi send me your number and I'll give you a call about it

Keeping with the nature of the forum...it would be good to have your input to help the OP and others...and not pm looking for work..!!

The previous bell box worked fine. I think it was just lacking the added security of anti tamper. Can this one be wired the same?
