Hi guys and girls, hope your all enjoying your Sunday, be it work or pleasure.

as I have said before, I am at college doing the 2365 L2, just about to fin yr 1 of it in the next 6 or so weeks, am currently building up kit for work as a mate / trainee / gopher, was looking at the Fluke T90, but have heard that fluke kit is well known amongst electricians to have a limited life

(i forget the term, but its a kind of inbuilt failure idea, only designed to last a little while)....pre determind failure sort of thing ?

...anyway if someone can shed light on this, or advise another route to take away from the T90 for whatever reason,...i am all ears,......also, lockout kits, big or small kits, any advice on where to get good deals ??

as always, thanks in advance to you all

You'll only need a basic kit. Hammer- claw and lump, bolster chisel, sidecutters, pliers-bullnose and radio, a set of drivers, hacksaw etc.
Obviously you'll have to pay for quality gear but that will last a lot longer than poundshop crap, buy a bit each payday and before you know where you are you'll have a good set built up.
Maybe you should look at the CK Magma kit, I've seen them on fleabay for under £200

cheers guys!...i looked at the ck kit trev, but i do not like the drivers handles, seemed a shame to buy the kit (which is good) and not use them, went for wera kraftform laser tips instead. as for the poundshop kit,...well some people get wot they deserve....

altho, i looked at a fatmax torpedo level the other day in Robert dyers,...stuck it to the metal shelving, it fell off, tried another, thinking dodgy magnet, the same, wasn't cheep either,...odd!

next on list is cutters, pliers, strippers, all VDE,...which got me wondring , as a mate, does it all have to be VDE ?....its going to be anyway, .....just wondered....

again,...many thanks!

Never buy a plastic level or everyone will start calling you nevile,

Wiha,knipex/draper are good snips at a reasonable price around £20

Ck are ok but I prefer wiha myself

......well, id assume so, but you would be surprised what i have heard (from ppl 16+20 yrs in the industry).....

the argument (from him) was " as a mate you wont need VDE,...."

...my answer was.....i wont be a mate for ever!! (also, i like to buy decent stuff).......but you know how some ppl can be, they know it all, and never will be told...

looking at ck at mo,......knipex are nice, costly, but i assume a good warrenty ?.....any suggestions ?

as always, much appreciated guys!!

have never used any wiha stuff, most other stuff iv used in some form or oter, be it VDE or not, stanly, draper, fatmax range, bahco, etc, never had any wiha,..may give it a go,.....heard good things..
