Hi guys and girls, hope your all enjoying your Sunday, be it work or pleasure.

as I have said before, I am at college doing the 2365 L2, just about to fin yr 1 of it in the next 6 or so weeks, am currently building up kit for work as a mate / trainee / gopher, was looking at the Fluke T90, but have heard that fluke kit is well known amongst electricians to have a limited life

(i forget the term, but its a kind of inbuilt failure idea, only designed to last a little while)....pre determind failure sort of thing ?

...anyway if someone can shed light on this, or advise another route to take away from the T90 for whatever reason,...i am all ears,......also, lockout kits, big or small kits, any advice on where to get good deals ??

as always, thanks in advance to you all

Bacho is another quality name to look for.

agreed, i had a hacksaw of theirs, good kit,.....did they used to be somthing else ?...or did they buy someone ??

how good is NWS kit ?....they all seem to own one another nower days...
Bahco used to be called Sandvik. NWS gear is pretty good, I had a pair of sidecutters which were great. I'm a Knipex man now though

Bacho also made decent screwdrivers, and as archy rightly said they were the only name for shifters

cheers guys!...i looked at the ck kit trev, but i do not like the drivers handles, seemed a shame to buy the kit (which is good) and not use them, went for wera kraftform laser tips instead. as for the poundshop kit,...well some people get wot they deserve....

altho, i looked at a fatmax torpedo level the other day in Robert dyers,...stuck it to the metal shelving, it fell off, tried another, thinking dodgy magnet, the same, wasn't cheep either,...odd!

next on list is cutters, pliers, strippers, all VDE,...which got me wondring , as a mate, does it all have to be VDE ?....its going to be anyway, .....just wondered....

again,...many thanks!

Go insulated just in case. Also, never trust someone when they say 'everything's dead, start stripping out'!!:wink5:

edit; I'm pretty sure safe isolation has been covered in your course

It's a bit like my other stuff, looks sexy when all matching, I only gave it all a clean yesterday, wasn't expecting to take photos today!

The screwdrivers are breading like rabbits!

A tip for the people who never clean there kit, 50p pack of wet wipes, give them a good wipe down, gets rid of most of the dirt and brings them up nice and shiny again, I do it every couple of weeks, if you look after your kit, it looks after you!
