Hi,

After having a partial electrical rewire of a domestic property and existing electrical installation tested which certificates should I receive from the electrician and should I receive something from the council, also are they uploaded somewhere so they can be downloaded in the future?

Thanks in advance for replies :)

Electrical installation certificate with appropriate schedule of inspections and test results.

If you used an electrician who is part of a competent persons scheme then Part P notification should be done for you with a reference number. If not then you need to notify building control.

Would that be where is says "Certificate reference"?

If the certificate is lost how is a replacement obtained?

There should be a Part P reference as well as a certificate reference/serial number.

If you lose a certificate then contact the installation company for a replacement, normally a small admin fee could be incurred.

As said, the certificate from the sparks. A compliance certificate via his/her scheme in the post, addressed to the 'occupier' of said property, if the sparks is in a scheme?

Normally that sort of info is agreed or stipulated in the quotation.

In my understanding of the definition of rewire, I'm referring to the broadest terms.

The Domestic Electrical Certificate I was given last week is 6 pages, there is no mention of Part P and nothing has arrived in the post.

A new consumer board was installed.
As far as I'm aware that is work that should be notified (I'm not from England so not sure). If you loose the certificate you generally can get another one from the electrician but will have to pay for it

Neighbour has just received her building cert for a garage conversion that was completed two years ago...

The 6 pages you've received... Are they hand written? Could be an indication that he has duped it and sent you a copy but not yet filed it with niceic or equiv. Or could also mean he printed a load of certs off the internet and hands them out without filing them. Who knows...
