Full time since around 1967/8, full indentured apprenticeship, followed by company sponsored further higher education (4 year split degree). But was out with a self employed electrician uncle, most day's after school and Saturdays from around the age of 13, mostly on domestic, but also some commercial offices, shops and industrial at bakeries (Wonder loaf), sand pits, and the like... It gave me a good basic understanding start, as well a some decent money in my pocket!! lol!!!

40... started trailing 20miles on the buses to leeds college at 16 with a toolbox as well as walking a mile from the bus station, had to get up at 5.30 for over 3.5yrs and i was there furthest based student

i used to travel to lct on the train twice a week. i had all my tools, boots and books in one big a*se duffel bag. i lost count of the apologies i handed out for cracking folk on the head.

45, served a 4 year apprenticeship on mechanical/electrical '83 to '87. Moved sideways, up, down, into the office etc in the intervening years. Went back on the tools as I reached melting point with office BS as a project manager, decided to update and refresh on the training. Then started self employment which is where I am currently finding my way in the world of domestic and commercial.

30, started at 16, 4 year apprentiship, mainly commercial, industrial now, but start of my time was houses, my time is split now between supervising electrical installs, on the tools when needed, loads of testing, and i look after 2 general electric 64 slice VCT CT Scanners for the UK military, trained in the states to work on them, on call service and breakdowns. keeps me out of trouble most of the time! :66:

33, started apprenticeship at 18, that lasted 4 years, then did HND in electrical engineering part time at college whilst I was working in a factory as an assistant maintenance spark. Horrible days......moved on to domestic and light commercial and much prefer that! Also currently work as a Traffic Warden part time so I can pay the mortgage (sorry.....please don't hate me!)....... :)
