Right, small problem.

I started a job about 6 weeks ago, though an agency, i spoke to the guy at the time, and because i didt have IPAF, (or some bull****) they wanted to pay me mates rates (9.50) anyway i needed the money, so i took the job, anyway they paid me electricians rate (like everyone else on the job) of 14 quid, - in hind sight, i should of said something but there you go.

Anyway they put me back down to 9.50 about a fornight ago, and i recieved a phone call on monday afternoon asking for the 650quid+ back.

so ive jacked, on there repayment terms id be on 5quid an hour after tax for a 47.5hour working week, which quite frankly is a ****ing joke.

My question is, Ive already lost my week in hand and monday, do you think they will try and bill me for the rest of it?

Why is knocking your pan in day in and day out so ****ing complicated.

it's not an error. they have paid you correctly. rate for the job. stick with it, did you have a written agreement for ÂŁ9.50, or that you'd work as a mate, signed by you? i doubt it.

Did you need to use platforms to do your work? If not tell them to get stuffed, you carried out your job roll as an electrician.

So this agency demoted you from a qualified sparky to a mate because you can't use a cherry picker? They will try anything to make/save a buck.

next thing will be a specific piece of paper to prove you can use a pipe bender without smacking someone in the face with the conduit. makes me laugh when all we had was a forklift with a pallet on it for high work.

IPAF is cheap and easy though, I paid ÂŁ250+vat for myself & my friend to go and do it at a place in Chepstow, and we did all 4 categories in a day (they started off umming and aahing that we wouldn't manage it in a day, then we finished 2 hours early, go figure)
