A guy is making up an air compressor with coin meter and asked if I would wire this up for him/have a look.

From what he said it will be 230v transformed to 24v for coin meter ,,,,,

again anything you want to add I'm all ears, all i can see maybe is 230v and use 24v to to operate contactor also the 24v will be timed some how, not enough info at mo, but I'm interested

Aye I like your understanding and imfo you providegrant37 of this reminds me of all being at tech/college as we briahed on this stuff just not in gret detailbut think might be better using 12v version as only £8... On ebay. What kind if local shop would stick these 12v valves , plumbing suppliers ?
FESTO valves UK maybe.................they deal with pneumatics for this kind of stuff...

It says 12v ac in and 12v ac out on coin meter , would this be a problem if Dc is used as the valves seem to be dc

use a bridge rectifier like the one in the photo with some spade connectors, stick a fuse holder in before the transformer-maybe a 3A Fuse, also using a regulator etc will give you the option of the LED coming on when the valve is open and going off when the valve is closed.....with about £0.90p worth of extra components this could be a dual colour LED which goes green when the valve is on and red when the valve is off etc....or with a 40p NE555 Timer IC the LED could flash instead...

sorry for the delay in posting, I was really busy and was doing paperwork and sorting out about some things most of the day......

Well the coin box already has LEDs built in as you say, red when on and turns to green when operating, just need to place Perspex in and remove plastic cover

would my 6A mcb not protect the lot. I. E like lighting circuit , trying to keep simple i could fuse it down with spur to 3A . I set it up last night with 12v pizo buzzer. Just need the 12v valve now

Thanks all for your comments, advice and suggestions. The following is probably pretty boring for most, and is simply a summary of how the job...
