evening, i dont really get involved with alarms but looking to install one at home, i would like a system i can connect up that would dial my mobile if activated when im out, without a contract etc as ill be able to maintain it, anyone have ones they recommend or ones to avoid?! also how easy are they to set up, cabling and terminations i understand are quite clear. cheers

any standard alarm panel will do the job. i recommend the texecom veritas R8 with a texecom auto dialler or the gardtec 595, think they do a dialler as well.. you program in the numbers to dial.

the beauty of the gardtec panel is that you can fit wireless detectors.

Wiring not a problem as I'll be putting extra sockets and wiring spots etc at the same time want to do it once and do it properly, I'll look into those systems are they straightforward to wire at the panel? Also the autodialler would that be separate or built in to the panel?

the texecom veritas is the simplest . esp. the programming. the dialler is a separate unit that is wired into the panel and has a standard telephone plug the other end,

I would recomend the Texecom Premier Richchet range with a GSM module, loaded with features and each device acts as a repeater for other devices and is very secure, Elite keypads for the system look the nuts as well

I use the Texecom Speech and Text Dialler for cheap remote comms with a Texecom Veritas R8+ or Excel Panel or for bigger systems the Premier range

Ive installed loads of texecom r8's very reliable.in original post running cables not a problem so i would personally use a wired system..no need for battery changes in the detectors/contacts every few years that way, also if you get false alarms on a radio system they can be a bugger to investigate.all that you can do is replace the detection device and prey.

response sl 6 wireless system, 886 mhz not the 433 mhz type, often on offer at costco comes with 4 pirs a couple of door contacts, remote fob, external siren and built in dialler, all batteries etc, all wireless simple to program on the kitchen table prior to fitting often seen at costco for £150 + vat, loads of extras available - got one fitted at one of my houses, takes an hour to change the batteries I have 14 door window contacts and 6 pirs plus an extra key pad and fob

in my day job I would fit gardtec if going wired,
not tried the texecom ricochet yet but heard they are pretty good
