Thanks for the help anyways everyone think my question has been answered it can be a difficult experience working with the public sometimes but it’s good to have this forum for us electricians to clarify things thanks again.
 
i'm confused. if you did the work for the landlord, why is the tenant sticking his nose in?
 
I am not getting involved with the electrical inspection aspects of this post, but would advise you to write down soon a 'contemporaneous' - which means 'existing at or occurring in the same period of time' or in other words every time you have a communication with him/her or him/her with you write it down with a time and date. This will be then your formal record which you can present in court or to trading standards, if God forbid you have to. I bet he/her has not and this would help you argue your case with some evidence.
