Hello everyone i woundered if anyone could help me with my problem, I recently finish college passing all my exams and now have to do the final am2 exam i have taken it once but failed i am at some what of a disadvantage i only work for a small company that does mainly domestic work i dont get to practice really any anything on the am2 exam :( i have rang the college asking for advice but they were actually quite rude say i should know how to do it but surely if i cant practice what do they expect? i know i am not the best sparky in the world and i dont want to pay 800 for something i could fail again sorry for the long explanation just not sure what i should do? thanks :)

You'll probably find out a lot sooner I did mine last week and got a text at 8 o'clock that night. I think you fail for not reeding the spec. I used the flex to supply the heating system from the spur then read the spec and realised it wanted singles and just had enough left for the boiler valve that was banjoed in an I passed so its possible they will pass you

Thanks, yes just a bit gutted, my asseser said the installation was really good, went through the functional testing and everything was good then found out the hot water zone valve wouldn't turn on because I used the wrong flex and miss the connection! Just wondered if that would make me fail the installation part? Making Feel sick that I won't know untill next week!

I very much doubt that will constitute a fail if that's all that was wrong. Don't stress about it.

yeah thanks we call it your trade test in scotland

Sounds a lot better I must admit.

Ok I hope I find out before the weekend. Yes I did in singles to the connection box but used 3 core flex instead of 4 core flex to the solar unit, so missed on connection witch turns on the hot water. Hopefully they will just mark me down for it, not fail me for it! Can't believe it kicking myself for such a silly mistake!
