Hi everyone,

I was called out to a house yesterday to fit a new 2 gang dimmer switch.
When got there the customer had installed on 1 circuit throughout the whole down stairs, over 100 x 50w / 230v down lighters onto a 6 amp circuit. Quick clac suggests this as being over 5000w/ 230 = 22Amps.

Would like your thoughts please.

Cheers guys

Here's one I'm about 3 quarters of my way through, not on one of these harp guitars like Michael Hedges played. Entry level ones are around ÂŁ7k. Hedges plays it in G major whereas Bach wrote it in D minor
Michael Hedges - Cello Suite #1 in G Major (Bach) - YouTube
Takes a little while to get going but it's worth it.
i love Bach's music
its good fun transposing music.

some songs sound a lot better in a different key.

good choice in composer.

havent heard of that instrument before

There's a few astonishing players of them. Hedges is one but he's no longer with us, Another one is Andy McKee but have a dig because one will lead on from another.
I suppose I'm so fond of Bach because of my passion for Andres Segovia, he took a lot of Bach's cello and organ suites and tweaked them slightly so they'd work on a guitar. Peo Kindgren is also worth a look.
I hate them sometimes because I'll never be that accomplished as long as I've got a hole in my arse :)

once you can read music you can transpose to any instrument with a bit of practise as long as you can figure out what key the instrument and score are in.

I can read to a point and can transpose fairly easily, I figured out Every Breath You Take in G as opposed to the original which is in D, I did it because I couldn't manage to sing the high notes the way Sting did it. It's also much easier fingering the chords in G, Andy Summers must have bloody massive hands :)

i sing out of tune but then i tend to sing along to the radio in my car.

bought a cheap bluetooth reciever off amazon and i use it in my car and makita radio:D

ÂŁ15 and works a treat, going to modify the radio soon to supply power to it

Orange seem to be fashionable right now, they come in and out of favour. I like them a lot and if my Marshall gives up on me I'd seriously consider one.
I can't help liking the amount of choice the Line 6 gear gives you though. You could be sounding like you're going through an old Fender Twin Reverb one minute then a Mesa Boogie the next. Then something completely different.

I did a gig a few years ago with Ray Davies (Kinks). He was telling me that the original distortion effect they had came about entirely by accident - they used to rehearse in their mums small front room and one day a knitting needle pierced the cone on the cab. They decided they liked the 'broken' sound and punched a few more holes in it!!

I watched an interview with Dave one time where he was on about the same thing Chris. Generally hailed as the first metal song, You Really Got Me.
I saw Ray on Jools Holland's show a few weeks back, he was a shadow of his former self. He's still Ray Davies though and so commands respect.

Have done two (I think) 'one off' shows with Plan B. Would have loved to have worked with The Streets, though.
