called to a job to day where a customer says their emersion heater not working ,gets to the job ,open the cupboard and a nice unvented cylinder .
now this unvented cylinder has not one but two elements feed from a 2.5 cable the old emersion switch ,but wait on why is there two 3kw on..
now 3X2=6kw , the fuse had blown now ,this system wet pants have put in is a pressurised system ,their is no gas but water feed . now a nice new 6mm feed for both elements .and top it all the gas &water needs bonding has well.

Something that's quite like a tun, so it's "tundish"...

It's the black thingy in the pic, and I think it should be lower down, but I'm not too familiar with g3.

Seen this before, heater element below ( thermostat build in) but with another thermostat sensor only above. It's a winter, summer thing with a switch somewhere to switch between the two. But obviously this needs to be checked first.

So many faults it's not amusing! The balanced cold outlet has been Tee'd into the incoming main and the expansion vessel, which could lead to mains over pressurising the cylinder as the prv is effectively by passed, expansion vessel potentially rendered useless as mains pressure can act on it directly rather than at the reduced pressure supplied by prv. A complete ******** in every respect! Seen a few nicely plumbed jobs with poor electrics, but there is nothing good about this install! Should be reported to building control really.

And it is wired correctly, too. I do have G3 certification.
Unlike one I got called out to on Christmas day, high limit cutout not wired, cable entry cover plate removed ( could get finger in beside flex ), and stat wired to off signal so no hope of it heating up! :frowning:
