I agree they are dangerous when the cover is off, I have worked on them live several times lol and it can be a bit hairy, especially when the previous spark has run the cables around the board and it is like a ball of wall and you need to remove a circuit haha

C50 boards were still being made in green until early/mid eightees, then the boards were changed to grey and were made for a few more years until they finally stopped being made, in the early eightees we used to fit them in schools all over the glos county, the county council loved them and I would imagine thousands of the crabtree c50 boards were installed in their property's.It looks like something Tony worked on as an apprentice back in the early 50s.
How old is Mike?
I've had the dubious pleasure of installing and working on both these C50s and the Dorman Smith Loadmaster. Both are bloody awful.
