Has anyone come across one of these before, and when were they about?

There were two of them in a house where I worked recently.

Cheers. [ElectriciansForums.net] Antiques Roadshow?

I agree they are dangerous when the cover is off, I have worked on them live several times lol and it can be a bit hairy, especially when the previous spark has run the cables around the board and it is like a ball of wall and you need to remove a circuit haha

Makes you glad you have long nose for sure, anyone have any links to 200mm+ longnose?

Keep the breakers , I was in a wholesaler once and a guy next to me was paying £35 for a C50 MCB , I had to tell him I have got loads at home and he could have had one for a tenner ..

It looks like something Tony worked on as an apprentice back in the early 50s.

How old is Mike? :)
C50 boards were still being made in green until early/mid eightees, then the boards were changed to grey and were made for a few more years until they finally stopped being made, in the early eightees we used to fit them in schools all over the glos county, the county council loved them and I would imagine thousands of the crabtree c50 boards were installed in their property's.

I've had the dubious pleasure of installing and working on both these C50s and the Dorman Smith Loadmaster. Both are bloody awful.

And me Installed a few of them back in the late 70's and early eighties

Anybody come across the Lupus Electrical boards now they were really horrible last saw one of them about 8 years ago in a school in Manchester just walked off site because they wouldn't let me isolate it although to be fair I didn't want to use the isolator on the board so it was the whole busbar chamber that fed it that I wanted to isolate

While we are on the subject, who knows anything about ottermill boards?
I've worked on their switchgear/busbars/fuseboards before but came across a TPN mcb board the other day, never seen them before.

Dormans were the board of choice for the then Glasgow Corporation (Council) in new build and rewires. There are thousands of DS boards in the City, changed over two in the last couple of weeks.

Thanks, guys for explaining why I get the strange readings without using three prongs. I want to say I tested with my TIS 849 as well, but I'm not...
