Any EV chargers that work without internet?

I am quoting for a EVCP install.

The location is too far from the house to get a signal from the router. I realise I could go down the route of installing an outside socket and plugging in an extender but the customer doesn't want to do this. They are quite happy to plug there vehicle in and for it to charge, without any smart control. Running a data cable to the router is not an option as I am taking power from the meter box which is a long way from the house.

I have installed the Ohme home pro before which has built in wifi, but I would rather avoid this unit if possible, for 2 reasons... the customer doesn't particularly want smart capability and also it has 2 pre-flexed cables attached to it, making it a messy install. I digress.

I think the hypervolt works without internet, but not sure. Any recommendations for chargers that definitely work without internet. I.e plug and play? Oh yes, and they need the PEN fault device.

Hypervolt definitely work.... but they are a bit more expensive than some.

I am now wondering if it's possible to fit a cheaper 'project EV' which requires an earth rod.

The metal consumer consumer unit housing the Type A RCD will be in the meterbox next to the PME MET, so the CU has to stay PME.

Is it acceptable to gland the SWA into the charger with a stuffing gland and then have an earth rod simply connected to the charger (Ra <200ohms).

Easee chargers can use the cellular (mobile) network and dont need a wifi connection

If claiming the grant, the EVCP now has to be smart, not sure if you already know this.

Andersen don’t need an internet connection. Bit trumpy on cost though.

I'm beginning to think most of them can be plug and play.
The grant finishes in a month, so not too fussed about that @loz2754 . Way too much hassle to get paid as well.

Any thoughts on the rod? Is it as simple as having one just for the EV charger, rather than making the EV consumer unit TT as well? I don't want to mix it up with reg 722.411.4.1 (ii) which is impossible to achieve.

It would be within the regs to do that. Indents i through iv are all for PME systems.
See Note 6 underneath. In your case, the distance from the house probably removes the possibility of being too close to PEN-connected bonded metalwork. So I guess this is a workable solution.

I guess this charger won't have a CT clamp either and be permanently set to an appropriate current draw?
