No they haven't been mounted by someone that is how they where manufactuered in 50's
I ripped one out a couple of months ago. Dove tail joints, glass front, must have been the original from 1948 when the house was built. I should have taken a pic.
I know they are not electrically sound in this day and age, however, they were the best that was avaliable at the time they were installed.
I love looking at them.
Dovetail joints, brass hinges, ceramic fuse holders.
VIR or rubber cables.
There were a few different trades required to manufacture that item.... It interests me.
Ill shut up about it because im bonkers.
I wouldn't throw any of that stuff in the skip nowerdays because I would admire the craftmanship of its manufacture.
I bet you have a big shed lol. I would admire it then 'meh' it goes in the skip, can't keep it forever.
