Vehicle tech mate of mine reckons it is oil warning light and known problem with false warning light when first switched on.

New part to fix is
Oil level warning display
1131 HO

have you not got the handbook? they always have the symbols in there. If not you should be able to find a .pdf file for it on google more than likely.

A handy trick to know with most Vauxhalls is how to get the fault codes out without the use of a fault code reader:

1. Open driver's door and leave it open.
2. Put key in ignition but don't turn it.
3. Put left foot hard on brake, right foot on accelerator and hold it floored.
4. Turn key to position 2 - DO NOT TURN TO 3 (CRANK), or if it does start, you may damage the turbo.
5. Observe the warning light. Count the flashes, there will be 4 groups of flashes. 10 flashes means a zero.
So, if you got 10, 1, 1, 10 the fault code would be 0110 - the mass air flow sensor.
The pattern will repeat for other stored codes.

Simon.

Disconnect battery for 10 mins, this will reset your ECU, reconnect if problem still there get a diagnostic about ÂŁ20 from a garage, sounds like a sender unit or sensor.
Thing here though....well I used to work welding truck chassis up and you always disconnected the battery first....but before disconnecting the battery you had to turn everything on....lights, wipers, the lot. If you didn`t do this BEFORE disconnecting the battery...you blew the computer on the truck. Not saying this would happen with a van...but you never know......

my van ain't got any of these new-fangled gadgets. to check the oil you pull out the dipsick, wipe it on the t shirt the wife's just washed, shove it in again, pul lit out and see if there's oil on it. sssimples.
