O

Octopus

Got "told" to run cables across a wall (about 1/2 way up) today by a Hungarian plumber (no accessories - so no safe zone)....... he seemed surprised when I declined to do it and obviously had no idea about UK cable safe zones ..........:)

European regs anyone ?

Out of probably 2 or 3 dozen countries I've worked in it's only the UK that has hangups about appliances being installed in bathrooms.

If you have a shower cubicle in a bedroom, any socket outlet within the said bedroom should be no less than 3 mts from the boundary of zone 1 of the shower. 701.512.3.

And yet

A socket outlet can be installed 2 mts horizontally from the border of zone 0 (within zone 2) of a swimming pool. 702.53ii

Work that one out.
