Funnily enough David i do not carry a regs book wherever I go it seems pointless. It's on the van and I'm watching countryfile so you will have to entertain yourself I'm afraid nighty night.
 
I agree. It says you need to 'take account'. So if you read them and made a call on site that they are not appropriate then continued anyway to follow the manufacturers recommendations then you would still be in violation of this reg.

Very carefully worded reg...
you dont need to follow the manufacturer's instructions at all and no problems if you don't, its there in black and white.

i don't carry the regs with me but it is on the shelf in my office and im sat in there now on pc

The problem I have is the torque seems to vary. One time it clicks with not too much effort, the next got to use a lot more force to get it to click. Took it back but out of warranty so bought another and its the same, just returned it. Its the well known Wiha, not sure if I got a faulty batch or something.
