What do you mean ''there is NO reading when an earth stake is installed?? Your ''Always'' going to obtain a reading/value, no matter how bad/high it may be!!

What's the maximum Ze value your MFT, or separate ELI tester measures then?? The only other thing i can say, is that there must be a break in the earth rod conductor, if your not getting any reading at all!! So what are you going to do, if the supply to your customers house, doesn't have a PME connection available??

I had one a few weeks ago. 1960's build. Unsheathed earth to gas and water no main earth. Earth readings were good though. I got wpd to install a pme.
Should be a problem if you ring them. The local team came out to pme it. Then I went back connected up new earth and commissioned new work.
Checking earth and bonding should come before any work is carried out.

Also, have you left it like that? An earth connection tends to be quite important you know.

I do hope you haven't left it like that while you wait for the bits of paper to arrive, be filled-in, returned, actioned or not ..... etc etc.

As soon as I started reading this I though we’re going to get to the “I’m going back next week” syndrome.
It’ll be OK for now??????

I thought it was an obligation to shoot and burn all mad cows?

Sorry I’m not in the farming section!

I`v witnessed this one in person.....a temporary rod was put in....i asked if the `installer` was going to provide a temporary upfront RCD to go with his rod...
`eh?` was the reply..
