Hey,i have been an electrician for 5 years and was wanting to re-grade as an approved electrician. When i was at college i did not complete the distance learning booklets or attend the 35 college week.I was wondering how this is now possible?

Go onto the JIB website and it will give you a number to phone about grading, the woman on the phone will work in the grading deptartment and will tell you what you have to do to get an approved ticket. She will get serveral calls like this every day.
Other sparks will reply to your thread as to the best of their knowledge but the rules on grading change all the time as the always move the goalposts nearly every year to involve more courses etc and make it that little bit harder.so the best thing is to ask the JIB as they make the rules and award the cards

Yet again instead of simplifying electrical grading the system has got even more harder to understand . Yet you could look it like this the more complicated it gets the more official bodies you will need putting their tuppance in and getting a good living out of it yet we the electricians have to be subserviant to all of this,
Can you imagine a doctor or lawer being told yes we know you are qualified but you need to join one of these bodies who will have the power of life or death over you
I can just see it now a class action case in the European courts for an infringement on Free Trade. mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
