Hi all as I previously posted I cancelled my niceic application and applied for napit so Tuesday is tge day of my assessment. My main work is new build installations oppose to alot of testing, I did my 2392 which was very breif.......so I need to refresh myself on the zs, I understand how to take it and maxium zs for size of breaker etc, the 80% rule. But what else is the zs result used for? Also say I get a reading on a tt system of 5.4 I understand a 100ma rcd to stop nuisance tripping.....as you can see I need a bit of guidance on this!

keep your confidence up and don't forget the tea/coffee and biscuits. just think what you are doing, don't rush, and most important, work safely. prove voltage tester, isolate, prove again. if in doubt, look it up.and best of luck.

So all this is a TT system then. What is your Ze for the system as I'm pretty sure you will not do a Ra.

Have you tested this 100mA RCD that is upfront ? Is the rest of the installation on 30mA RCD protection ?

Why did you decide to use an RCBO on the SWA to the garage when you have an upfront 100mA RCD. Is the Garage detached ?

You know of course that if that socket for the telephone/broadband it is not technically on an unprotected side, and that 100mA RCD could easily trip as fast as the 30mA I hope you have used.

Rewire, 2 radialsRing for kitchen2 light circuitsCooker circuitSplit loadedThen swa out to garage on RCBO1 unprotected radial feeding one socket next to the board for a Internet and phone plug in due to themNeeding constant supply for work reasons (and yes cable is over 50mm in partition)Oh yer and obv smokesSo pretty good installation to show themAnd to the question "am I ready" here is my answer.....Starting doing PIRs for a living.....NORewiring houses and self certify them....YESFire alarm systems.....YESThree phase installations.....NO

I think maybe your questions were not that clear at the start of the post.

I take it that you are doing PIR 's now from the above reply if that is the case you should really be answering your own questions re ZS and TT systems as this is very basic knowledge that any person doing a PIR MUST have.

Sorry if I have miss understood your posts and good luck with the assessment!!

think he meant doing pirs for a living... not.

Tony mc.....no I am not doing PIRs yet, i am posting comments from a iPhone so it's not that easy to set it out....there is a no after that pir comment meaning that I am not competent on them yet plus havnt got the 250k pi insurance for it.CheersPhil

Which is why I chose NAPIT they make you get 2391 in 12months, if I went with nic Dom installer they just wanted 17th so 12 months from now I should be doing PIRs......just shows the difference from 2392 to 2391

this part of your original question is not worded well and makes little sense which is why you recieved the replys you did - try to be a bit more clear and give a fuller explanation in future.

it is commendable that you are on the right track and heading in the correct direction, and will probably need a lot of help/advise in the next few months, being more clear on the advise you require will yield much better results from some very experienced members of this forum - bit like having your own yodas to call on when stuck.

and in my opinion a bit illegal, pretty sure there must be some form of copyright infringement, if not maybe i will develop the eze2391 and start teaching a two day course for a ÂŁ1000
