Can anybody tell my why you can only remove an ATEX isolator front off when it's in the on position??
You use someone you know and trust then you just do a visual and the odd initial
what type of inspection do you do when commissioning?So you would deem them competent then?
I personally wouldn't ever sign off an Ex installation by just doing a visual and the odd initial.
Ha, so you don't have time to type "DETAILED INSPECTION" but you do have time to post up a HSE link.Offshore Information Sheet No. 1/2011
It's all covered in there, as is what I was saying about competence.
I don't have time to type out a long winded answer as I'm just about to knock off my dinner break.

Theres 3 checks to do;
1,visual
2,close
3, detailed
but this you know!
As i've said you can use anyone you want to install it but you wouldn't use a 9 year old bloody school girl, of course you use someone who can do the job unless your training someone. The point i'm making its up to you who you use but a compex trained person should check it
Yes I know, I put the error down on purpose.Jonspark you will find that detailed is a GRADE of inspection and INITIAL is a type of inspection as referred in 60079 17.
The ones I've seen can only be removed in the off position, they can not be removed in a padlocked off or on position.
You shouldn't be taking the front of an isolator off in an ATEX zone of there is still chance of even on side of it being live.
As your not a qualified ATEX inspector or compex qualified (i know this from your replies), you're not allowed to sign off someone else's work.
