Hi all,

I am a bit of a newbie on this so go easy :)

I have recently installed new open/reverse gate hydrolic motors on to residential gates in a property of flats. They have been working fine for two months now and using the old control equipment these where just like for like replacements.

The problem which is happening now is sometimes they are sticking closed, not opening and causing the residents to struggle to get there cars in & out.

The photocells seem ok athough ones glass is shattered a bit. When I go to repair or find the fault there seems to be none and I put them back on auto mode to be used through the keyswitches or frequency transmitters.

The factors are now onto me to fix the problem and I can't fathom out what can be wrong.

I know a fair bit about electrical supplys and control equipment as I am a qualified electrician with Hvac controls experience however this seems to be slightly above my knowledge.

Any feedback or help on this would be appreciated.

Hi all again,

I have changed the pcb to the new one which came with the new gate motors.
Controller: Elpro 7
Aerial: Birio A8
NO contact on 2x key switches working off a 12v supply (Extra)

Got a few problems now!!

1st :=
I have programmed the receiver & controller to work off one transmitter currently. However I cant involve the 2x operator keycode switches (Inside gates & Outside) to open the gates manually as there isn't a connection to connect a NO connection. This gets made for a short while when the correct key code is entered.
Where would you connect these into?
When the radio receiver flashes and makes it fires L6 the the program L7 starts to work the gates.
I want these keycode switches to also operate the gates programme but really struggling to find were to tie into.

Also I now need to sort out everybody (15x) transmitters to work with the new receiver

Struggling big time..

Any help would be appreciated

A dry contact, like when that gets enabled then it pulses to the pcb..
There just seems to be no connection (I don't seem to see) that enables the program to start the same as the radio signal.
the 4 pin plug in radio card doesnt describe if it has a relay contacts,24v etc..

ps.
the keypad is purely just making and breaking resistance. checked with volt meter and continuity.

The 12volt supply to the keypad is supplied from a small transformer below controller and independent.

Previously 9In the old pcb system) it was linked with the radio card so any gives an output.

Out of the 4 pins there may be 2 poles of contact that makes and breaks when a transmitter is pressed.

yes, in its normal state is normally open. no contact, no continuity across the two cables.
when the 8 code access is pressed on either both keypads, both sides of gates, the keypads sounder beeps for around ten seconds. This coincides with the two normally open connections making, continuing for this short space of time.
What I need:-
When this contact makes (On correct keyed access)
the pcb starts its procedure to open/delay/close the gates
I just cant see where or if there is possible connections for this.

# Previously the keys were doubled up with a relay contact coming from this type of receiver.!

I'll certainly try and call them.

The company who I purchased the motors from. Company called ' Link Care' have a technical helpline and advice.. Going to call them on Monday 1st thing..

Only way I think to do it is if I can double up the radio (if any) contacts and keypad contacts so if any of them make then the controller will start the program. Ie open gates/ delay / close gates.

So frustrating, especially when it is the weekend and it'll need to wait till Monday now.

I know what you mean, your not the first electrician that has gone through this and I'm sure you won't be the last. I once had a customer all me out to her gates and it turned out to be a flower pot they had put next to the photocell. They said it was an intermittent fault, turned out to be the wind blowing the plant into the cell
