hi Guys,
Funny question but I've just installed - in my own property finally - Enecsys Micro inverters and want to put up another array on a traditional string inverters too.
But could I possibly get inadvertent islanding in a powercut? ie. the string inverters believe the enecys is the main supply and mimics that, and the micro-inverters see the string inverters as the mains and mimics.. neither shutting down?
As i write the questions I realised that if you had two string inverters going to a junction box or shared isolator the same problem could occur but obviously doesn't. How do inverters differenciate between the AC thats from the grid vs the AC that is mimicking the grid from another micro-generation source?
Does that make sense.
Secondly - is there any problem in having two seperate generation systems/meters in the same property as long as they stay under the 3.68/4kWp sizing?
