Well i think i have pushed the boat out this time..

for last 10 days i have been suffering outrageous back pain... tried every prescription drug under the sun (some non prescription also)

i have been out the navy for 2 1/2 years now and so far avoided getting this added to my "civilian" medical records at the doctors for obvious reasons... but looks like my luck has run out!

any advice for a 28 year old with 2x degenerative disc's and has a history of previous back trauma!!! (accident 2007)

tried all my physio techniques and exercises but it just wont go....!!! HELP!!

I have a similar problem and one thing the physio did try was acupuncture. It took three sessions but it did help a lot once the feeling of being battered calmed down. Coincidently she's now a physio for the team GB para-olympic team.

go see a professional physio. i had been having a lot of trouble with a frozen shoulder. |GP said it was just something i had to live with and gave me pain killers. 30 minute session with a physio cured it. think the modern term is chiropractor or something like that.

My wife suggested deep heat patches you stick on where theain is. One patch lasts about 8 hours. It gives out some heat, it really helps.

I have found that having a palm sander (with a foam pad NOT sandpaper) and getting someone to run the thing up and down the back can work wonders.
Leaning backwards into the landing while sitting on the stairs and slowly working your back down over the top step lip (do not fall down the stairs).
Hanging from a beam tends to reduce the pain for a little while.

All that bending over you did in the navy didn't do you much good eh?

Only joking mate, hope you get better.

Actually in second thoughts, have you considered that your pain may be the absence of a spine?
;-)

You are not talking about looking for the golden rivet I hope:innocent:

Must be bad posture bending over to pick his wallet up with all that money your earning:rofl:

The wife trained as a masseuse and even though she has given it up professionally she will massage my back when it's playing up and it helps a hell of a lot. When it got too bad the doctor put me on a cocktail of painkillers which temporarily sorted it for me

Best thing my wife has done in years was to sign up for lessons in massage and arromatheropy. Any time I have a stiff back, saw leg or my repetitive dodgy shoulder I just ask her for a rub down, and I come out smelling like lavender but it's worth it.:)

Paul when my wife was studying I thought it was all a complete load of bolox but those oils have helped me out loads of times
