get her to change the lavender oil for castrol 10-40. it will lube your joints and you'll end up smelling like a transit diesel.

paracetamol and codine work well together, also glucosamine and cod liver oil supplements can help,i feel crippled most days after playing football for far to long, every bone is sore, tho alcohol is probably the best pain killer of them all,in moderation of course

Hello

Feel for you a common complaint.

Best bet is a Chiro, bite bullet & pay the money, chances are somethings out of line.

I am the biggest cynic ever but the chiropractor thing has won me over.

About yor age I knack'd my wrist , ran into a wall &!stopped it dead with a painful wrist after, was jiggered for months, one trip to the chiro she may av well stamped onit but it worked fine after. Bones were out of place apparently.

Same applies to backs.

Agree with trev the hanging from a pull up bar does wonders too.

Hope you recover quickly mate, there are few things worse than painful back. I also found a TENs machine worked wonders for me, allowing me to keep mobile without that nagging pain, and before you ask it didn't work on the wife; she's still a nagging pain! :jester:

I have the same disc trouble in my back plus 3 fused vertebrae at the base of my spine......hereditary in my case, so know where you're coming from mate.

It got really bad about 10 years ago and I tried everything, to no avail. In the end I had to go to the docs and ended up having a blast of laser surgery followed by intense physio sessions for around 12 months.

Did the trick for me. Still get the odd twinge now and again but nowt to write home about.

After breaking both my legs in a car accident in my younger days i get a constant pain on cold damp days (which is most days in Scotland) so i have some understanding of the pain you feel. When it gets too bad i too get the wife to rub me down with some oils and it seems to do the trick for me.

Hope you get better soon mate

any advice for a 28 year old with 2x degenerative disc's and has a history of previous back trauma!!! (accident 2007)

tried all my physio techniques and exercises but it just wont go....!!! HELP!!

I know exactly how you feel, as I type this I am in bed since yesterdays Hydrotherapy session, supposed to help!
my DDD discs are L4-L5 and L5-S1 , will they operate? Like hell will they, not until I get permanent sciatic pain down both legs!

Have you tried BioFreeze gel? It is good yo apply just as you start to get a bit of a twinge, followed by a few Tramadol, and if that dont work OraMorph!

I trained as a Reiki healer many years ago. It works in 99.9% of cases and is wonderful as a de-stresser and gives you a feeling of well-being. Some healers will give you a trial session to see if you get any relief. Back pains respond well as do migraines. :43:

Mark- OraMorph?! Jesus man you must be in some pain. Thats given to terminal cancer patients.

Looks like night nurse....bad bad stuff. Or good!!

im in same boat.... i had appointment with the Navys Ortopedic Surgeon in 2009 and he was VERY reluctant to operate... he was banging home about discectomys and another procedure and risks involved... opted for 24moths of daily physio and a 5 week intense course instead....

fast forward 3 years and same position but this time i need to rely on the NHS....!! :( hmmmm
