As usual the government is using sledgehammers to crack nuts. The science behind the cull has been shown to be seriously flawed.
I'm very much against it.

Ok I will be devil's advocate as this is an electricians forum not a farmer's forum
They do carry tb which they can give to cattle

There's no way of knowing without testing whether or not a badger is carrying Bovine TB. The government are paying contractors to slaughter them indiscriminately because they are paid by results.
That is why it is wrong.

Have you got any idea how ridiculous that question is?
The government is not supposed to pay to inoculate each badger although they could insist on cattle being treated with vaccine which would be a sensible, realistic approach to take. Instead they are paying contractors to kill potentially perfectly healthy animals which, incidentally, are a protected species in this country.

So kill them all because some might be carrying a disease that cattle can easily be vaccinated against. Is that what you really believe should be done?
